Disney trip part 2

Sunday

On Sunday we headed to Animal Kingdom.

Our first adventure was A Bug's Life 3D movie which had Madelynn freaked out and Travis had to take her out. We all went on the water ride and Ava and I got totally soaked. It was a lot of fun!! We walked through the animals they had and saw a tiger and lots of other things. Travis took all of the kids, except Ava on the Yeti rollercoaster while Mom, Ava, and I walked around looking at the shops.

This is Mom and Ava posing for a picture in front of the Yeti ride, the mountain in the back.

After they were done with this ride we all went on the Safari ride and saw storks, hippos, elephants, lions, and other wild animals.

Grace took this great picture of the stork.

We went to lunch at Rainforest Cafe, which was our most expensive meal of the whole trip!! Travis wasn't feeling good and the girls thought it was too loud, but my meal was very delicious.

After this Travis, the girls, and I headed to Titusville, Fl to try to watch the launch of the space shuttle Endeavour. We got to town and stopped at Walmart to get some snacks. Then we drove around looking for a place to watch it. We decided to try to head out to the Kennedy Space Center to see if they happened to have tickets left to watch, since the launch was delayed from the day before. I decided that I didn't know if I would be comfortable driving on a road surrounded by water and there was a really huge line, so we went to watch from the Nasa Hall of Fame Museum. There were a ton of people there. Things were looking great for the launch, the weather wasn't bad. We wandered around the museum for a little bit and bought a few souveniers and then went and sat outside to wait.

About a half hour before it was supposed to launch they delayed it due to storm clouds. We decided to leave, because I wanted to go see the ocean. As we were pulling out of the parking lot they canceled it again. It ended up launching the Wednesday that we left. I drove to Cocoa, Fl, because I thought it was close to Cocoa Beach. It was, but too far for the time, it was about 7:30 and rain was coming. So I turned around and headed back. Ava and Travis tried to sleep. The rain in Florida is weird. It will downpour for about 5 minutes and then be fine. We saw a lot of cars stalled on the sides of the road. It must be because it's so hot there. We also noticed that the roads really have no shoulder. We are thinking it's because it's flat, so if you run off the road it doesn't really matter! lol.

Once we got back to the hotel Travis went to bed and the girls and I went down to a carnival/dinner thing that the Chef's convention was putting on. The girls both won tshirts.

Monday

Monday we decided to sleep in a little bit, because we knew it would be a long day! It was Magic Kingdom day.

Clark had the day off, so he got to spend the day with us too! That was nice. The first characters we ran into were Chip and Dale!

We headed to Frontierland first and did some rides and watched a bird show. After that we had some lunch. The kids enjoyed more rides and lots of cool 3D movies and things. At 9pm they had the light parade which was very cool, but my feet were killing me by this point. After the parade the kids had a quick snack and we were heading for a good spot to see the fireworks over the castle. We all got stuck in different parts of a bridge. Once you're in your spot and they start you aren't supposed to move because they turn the lights off. The fireworks were amazing! Coral and Dylan got separated from us, but we found them and headed off to Tomorrowland. My kids were whiny and hungry and Travis still didn't feel good, so we decided to head back. They weren't letting people on the monorail, so we had to wait in a HUGE line for the ferry. It made me nervous, I thought it would sink with so many people on it, but you couldn't even feel it moving. We then had to wait in an equally long line for the tram back to the parking lot. We stopped by McDonald's to get some dinner and got back to the hotel at midnight. In hindsight we should have waited as mom and the rest of the crew stayed a little longer and didn't have to wait in the huge lines.

Tuesday

Epcot Day!

It was very hot this day. We first got there and Travis got fast passes for everyone who wanted to go on the Test Track ride. After that we all got in line for the Mission to Mars/Moon ride. Travis, Coral, Grace, and Dylan went to the moon. Mom, Madelynn, Ava, and I were going to go to Mars. Ava got scared so I took her out. Madelynn had a blast on this ride. She got to be the pilot and thought it was very cool, as said by Grandma.

After this we headed over to the countries. Mexico was our first stop. We all rode on the ride they had there.

We went to Norway and rode the ride there also. Stopped in China because Grace wanted to check it out and then it was time for the test track ride. They all went and Ava and I wandered around a little, had a drink in America, played with some ducks in Germany, and colored in Italy.

Mom called me around 4 and I met them by the edge of the countries. For some reason when I stood up after watching Ava color I felt really dizzy, hot, and like I was going to be sick. They decided to eat in Italy and I went and got sick, so Travis took me back on the boat to the other side of Epcot. Walking back to the car I thought I would pass out I felt so bad. I got back to the hotel and ate a little and went to sleep. Travis had to get ready to go to the President's Ball dinner with Clark. I snapped a picture of them all dressed up in my feverish state.

Wednesday
I woke up a few times, but slept until morning, at which point I still didn't feel good and had a fever.

We got to the airport and couldn't get checked into our flight. A lady was trying to help us and couldn't, so we had to go wait in a huge line and ended up missing our flight. While they were getting us on a different flight they were trying to put us on one that didn't exsist. This wasn't fun while I was not feeling good. We met up with Mom, Coral, and Dylan again and had lunch with them at the airport. At 1:50 pm we boarded our plane on the way to Cincinatti, Oh. Almost as soon as we got on the plane Ava started complaining she didn't feel good. She had a fever too! In our 20 minutes between flights in Ohio I found some motrin and dosed her up. We got back on the next flight to Salt Lake City. Ava thought the pilot said aircrash instead of aircraft and started to freak out and didn't want to fly. We ended up buying them an inflight movie to watch, Monsters Vs. Aliens. I got 17 Again and Travis watched one too. I think that's the best thing ever on a flight. The girls were good and I wasn't scared, until we were just about to land. The pilot took a really sharp turn and everyone on the plane gasped just about. Ava started to freak out again, but we told her it was just like a rollercoaster and she was ok until we got on the ground. We got to the airport and had to find our bags, as they arrived on a flight that was not ours. Took a shuttle back to our car and headed home, all while feeling like crap. We got home and poured ourselves into bed, where most of us spent the better part of Thursday being sick. Friday I went to the doctor and I was lucky and had the influenza flu and the stomach flu. They gave me a shot to stop the throwing up and I have felt a lot better since then. Everyone finally seems to be coming around, so now it's time to get this mess cleaned from being sick!

Florida Trip 2009!

Wow, am I ever slacking.

Thursday

To my surprise Travis took the day off, so at about 1 o'clock we headed on our way to Salt Lake City. We had to stop in Provo to get Travis some dress shoes and sandals for our trip. They didn't have any sandals he liked at the mall there, so we stopped at Cabela's and picked him up a pair. We then headed into Salt Lake to check into our hotel. After we got settled in we decided to go to dinner. Hmmm, where should we go? We just ate at Olive Garden a few weeks before, so we were looking for something different. We decided on PF Chang's and headed on our way. Well, we found it just find, but neither of us thought about bringing any cash, so we drove around for 50 minutes looking for a place to park and couldn't find anything. We ended up going to Olive Garden, because we knew they had free parking. *bangs head on wall* lol. Everyone tried to get to bed early, because we knew we had a long day ahead. (Only I didn't, I can never sleep the first night in a hotel.)

Friday

We got up bright and early and had breakfast at the hotel. We left our car there and took the shuttle to the airport and got all checked in. The girls had fun watching the planes while we waited.

We got boarded and on our way with no problems. Ava sat by the window, Madelynn in the middle, and me in the aisle, with Travis across from us. The girls actually traded places a few times. Ava thought it was cool to get up and go to the bathroom on the plane I think, she asked to go a few times. Not so fun for mom, who doesn't like to fly.

About midway through our flight the woman in the seat in front of me told the flight attendant that she didn't feel well. They asked if there was a doctor on the plane and two people came to help her. Apparently her color was bad, she was really sweating, and her right arm and shoulder were hurting. They checked her out and put her on oxygen and she slept until we landed. They had talked of landing to get her to a hospital. It was pretty intense. We got to the airport and Travis got cranky. Fed the girls a snack, found our luggage, and went to pick up the rental car. Don't rent from Thrifty in Orlando. Travis stood in line for about an hour waiting to pick the car up. He finally got done so we picked it up. 2009 Dodge Charger, it was nice!

We hooked up the GPS and headed towards the hotel. Mom and the crew were waiting for us at the lobby. In the time it took Travis to get the rental car they had driven to the airport, picked up Grace and Clark, and driven back to the hotel! They helped me get our bags to our room while Travis parked. Parking was $12 a day there and $12 a day at the parks, so we paid over $100 just for parking while we were there!!

Once we got a few things unpacked and Travis got up to the room we headed to Downtown Disney for Dylan to pick out some legos. The lego store there was amazing!!

We were going to eat at an Irish Pub for dinner and it had a wait, so we just walked around for awhile. It was packed! There were a ton of neat little places there. The restaurant had music and a tap dancer, so it was really loud and some of the kids didn't like it, but it was a neat place for adults I think. Here are the kids out front.

The girls picking on Travis.

The girls also picked up some Pirate Princess Mickey Mouse ears with their Christmas money from Aunt Lisa and Uncle Steve. When did they get all these cool ones? I don't remember them!?!?

The hotel was very nice. The website said it had 6 pools and 2 of them were kids pools. It was more like one huge one that had 3 sides (one with a slide), a baby pool, a hot tub and an indoor pool, but it was very nice!

Saturday

On this day we headed to Hollywood Studios. I think this was my most enjoyable of the parks. Maybe because there were less people and not as much stuff, so the kids were able to see pretty much everything.

Right away when we got there most of the kids wanted to go on the Tower Of Terror, so we walked over. The line was long, so they grabbed fast passes. We walked over to check out the Aerosmith Roller Coaster.

We stopped to look at some fan spray bottles and all of the kids were playing with them. We started walking on and a few minutes later Coral noticed Ava was missing. Travis and I ran back looking for her. He went one way and I went the other. Someone asked him who he was looking for and yes they saw her, someone took her into the store because she was crying. They were just about to call us, because I had the brilliant idea of having them wear name tags with our cell phone numbers on them. That was very scary. I made sure to have her in my sight from then on.

Everyone went on a Movie ride. Then Travis took the kids on the Tower of Terror and the Aerosmith Coaster while Ava, Mom, and I went to see Little Mermaid. The kids also got to meet some Little Einsteins, Jojo and Goliath, the characters from Up, Mickey Mouse, and the Incredibles at the Animation Studio. There were more cool movie making and stunt rides we went on. The kids wanted to ride the roller coaster one more time before we left, but they were done for the night.

to be continued. . .

Alone

Yesterday, Travis, the girls, and I went back up camping. We saw only one or two other groups of people camping on the mountain. It was just the four of us. We haven't camped alone, just our little family, since we went camping in Wyoming about 4 years ago. It was really nice. On the drive up we saw a snowshoe rabbit. I don't know that I have ever seen one before. It was pretty cool looking. It was brown with big fluffy white feet. We also saw a lot of deer. Travis and the girls spent some time gathering wood, starting a fire, and playing around while I made dinner. We had chicken alfredo! Interesting to cook in the camper. It took about an hour and a half for me to get the noodles done! Next time I think I will cook the noodles at home and just reheat them in boiling water. After dinner we hung out around the campfire and the girls did some sparklers. They thought that was really fun! We all headed in to watch a movie on our portable dvd player and turned in for the night. I was awoken at 6:30 am to my cpap turning on of and off. I think that was the worst part of the trip. I'm not a morning person. But it was ok, because I took the humidifier off and got it working again.

The drive home took awhile and we got to the dump and found out our sewer hose was missing!! That didn't make a happy Travis, but I thought it was kind of funny. We ended up just buying a new one. We went and washed the camper (it was muddy) and came home to eat lunch. Then we had a day full of shopping to get stuff for our trip to Florida. I think all I have left to do is pack!
