Ava's loving Kindergarten. She always tells me she doesn't remember what they do, but then she'll just start talking about something they did and she is so excited. I am glad. I was worried she would be nervous, but she seems to be doing great.

There was a fire close by here today. I got some neat pictures.

Oregon Part 2

The wedding was really nice. The girls and Travis had a lot of fun dancing at the reception. I don't dance! lol.

We woke up early the next morning and headed up Highway 101 to see the beach and check things out.

First stop was the Sea Lion Caves. This was very cool! It had an elevator that went 250 feet or so to an underground cave where you could see a whole bunch of them!

After this we stopped at a beach, because the girls were asking every 5 minutes when we could go! They played in the water and we tried to get a family picture.

After that we drove to Newport and had lunch and went to their aquarium.

After the aquarium Travis thought we were running late, so we took a road away from the coast back towards Portland. Once we got back on I-5 traffic was stop and go for about 40 miles from the outskirts of Portland. It was ridiculous. We got to our hotel around 6 (which had much more comfortable beds!) Travis called his friend he knew from Gillette, Jared, and we headed over to his house. We spent the evening visiting with him and his wife and the girls played with their two cute girls. We had a great dinner and a nice time. Madelynn discovered slugs. There was one on her cup!

The next morning Travis took the girls swimming, we ate breakfast, and went to the airport and headed home!

There are a TON more pictures here.

Oregon Trip Part 1

On Friday, August 7th we went to Oregon for Travis' little sister, Rachel's wedding. We got up at 5:30am and headed to the airport in Salt Lake. We got there way earlier than we needed to be, about 8:00. Our flight left at 11 and we arrived in Portland with no problems around noon. It's an hour earlier there. We grabbed our bags and headed to get our rental car, which went easy this time. It was a Toyota Camry. Nice car, but I liked the last rental car we had better. I had to drive because the car was in my name. We headed to Florence under the cloudy skies. Traffic in Portland is awful! It was stop and go on the interstate pretty much the entire time we were on it. We turned on the road to Florence (where the wedding was!) and it was so beautiful. The pine trees were huge and everything was lush and thick. We got to our hotel at 5 and were in a big hurry as the rehearsal was at 5 and the girls had to be there since they were flower girls! In about 20 minutes we made it and met up with Darryl and Cindy, Travis' dad and wife. We headed to the rehearsal and got that done.

The rehearsal dinner was at a place across town. We find a spot to park and what do we see?

The ocean!! We had dinner and then the girls and I snuck away with Darryl and Cindy to go see the ocean. The girls love, love, love the beach. I think they would have stayed all night long if they could.

Seeing I only got about 3 hours of sleep, I was nervous about flying, we headed back to the hotel about 8, got the girls showered and into bed. Speaking of beds, the hotel had the most uncomfortable beds! Travis and I were both sore for a couple of days after sleeping on them.

We were up bright and early at 7 on Saturday to get the girls breakfast before their busy day. They had hair appointments at 8. We got there and they decided they needed an hour and a half to do the bride and her attendants hair, so we went to breakfast with Darryl and Cindy. They called about half way through and were ready for one of the girls, so I took Madelynn over.

I went back to breakfast and when we were done we took Ava over.

It took less time than we thought, so we walked around a farmer's market and got some raw honey and a new leash and collar for Roxy from their no-kill humane society booth. I took a few pictures. The flowers are so pretty there. The 2nd picture is of a draw bridge.

After that Rachel took the girls to the wedding site and Travis and I went to get ready. We headed over there to wait around for the wedding after we were done. The girls looked so pretty!

I have a ton of pictures, so I will probably do another post with the rest of the trip later. Need to make dinner!
