Dance Recital

The girls had small recitals the last few weekends. Their costumes are really cute this year. They are getting better at dance. It was fun to watch them. Here are some pictures.

No Computer

My laptop broke after a certain 6 year old slammed it shut because she didn't want to go to bed, so I've been computerless for a few weeks. I have no way to load pictures, since I don't have my own computer to load it to, so this explains why I've been missing.

My friend Heather and I went to a concert Wednesday. It was Buckcherry, Three Days Grace, and Nickelback. Travis heard on the radio a few days before that Buckcherry was going to be at a local bar for a meet and greet type thing. Well, me being the huge fan that I am, we had to go!

It was totally worth it! We got their autographs and got to take pictures with them. I was so nervous I couldn't stop shaking.

First Day of school 2010!

Today was the first day of school. Madelynn's in 3rd and Ava's in 1st! I can't believe it. They are getting big fast! It was also my first day back at work. Boy am I tired. I am not a morning person at all!

Check up

I had my 3 month check up for my diabetes today. I have lost exactly 70 pounds since January! Woo hoo! My A1C was 5.6 and the doctor said that is a normal non-diabetic level, so she said the diet and exercise is working really well. It was a good appointment! I just need to start walking again, I haven't been going as much since school got out, so I haven't lost as much weight. School starts in 2 weeks, so it should get easier!

Wow! Twice in a week!!

It's been a little nuts around here lately. I was sick last weekend with a fever all weekend. That was no fun. Then this weekend the girls were in the International Days parade for dance and we spent the afternoon hanging out at the festival they have in the park. That night we went back for a dueling piano show. If you've never been to one you should check one out. It was a ton of fun! Monday the girls had to go to the orthodontist!! Madelynn's getting braces on the 31st! Can you believe it? I can't!! She's only 8 1/2!

Yesterday was our 8 year anniversary from our church wedding. We got a babysitter and Travis and I went out to dinner. It was nice to spend some time alone. Today is our 9 year anniversary from the day we got married at the justice of the peace. I can't believe it's been 9 years. It seems to have gone so fast, and so much has changed in that short amount of time!

I am not very good about updating am I?

We got back on the 19th from an 8 day long camping trip in the Shirley Mountains of Wyoming with my in-laws. The guy at the hotel in Laramie didn't even know where they were, that's how in the middle of nowhere we were! hahaha! We had a really nice time and I took a lot of pictures. I took Coral and Dylan to Laramie half way through to meet up with my mom and take them home. That was a big sigh of relief. I am glad at this point in my life that Travis and I decided only to have two kids. Dylan was great most of the time he was here. Coral liked to pick fights with both of my girls and it irritated Travis and I to no end.

Saturday Travis and I along with our babysitter Sierra and our friend Heather went to Green River, Wyoming for my favorite band's concert, Buckcherry. It was so awesome. I had a great, great time!

Trip to South Dakota

The girls and I spent 2 weeks driving and spending time with family in South Dakota. We had a great time and I took a lot of pictures. Coral and Dylan came home with us. They have been pretty good so far. I hope it keeps up.

This post was causing problems, so I deleted it for now.

Ahhh, summer vacation!

Yesterday was the last day of school, so of course that means it was my last day of work. It's nice to not have to worry about going in for 3 months!

Yesterday afternoon I mowed the lawn and weeded the yard for most of the day and part of the night. The girls and their friends worked on cleaning up the back yard. Today I got all of the laundry done AND put away! I also planted some flowers and cleaned bedrooms, the living room, and the kitchen. I did most of this with 3 extra kids here, as I told the girls they could have a sleepover for the last day of school. Travis was also in Houston. He should be home in about a half hour! We are excited for him to be home. I hope that he isn't working as much as he was before he left. I think I am more motivated to do it now, because I know I don't have to go into work.

I haven't wrote much about my diet. I was diagnosed with diabetes in February, so I was put on a pill and I am following the diabetic diet. I have lost 54 pounds since February 15th (which is Madelynn's birthday!). All of my pants are falling off! It's nice when people notice. It's been hard work, but it feels good to keep seeing the weight come off. I go back to the doctor Monday for my 3 month checkup.

Ava had her big dance recital on the 17th, so I have a lot of pictures to load from that. I will get around to it soon. I have video too, but last time I tried to load a video on here it never finished, so I don't know what the deal is with that. Looking forward to seeing most of my family this summer in June! Coral and Dylan are going to come spend a few weeks with us. That will be a good time.
